Rainbow Fruit Loop Math

IMG_0911.JPG

Count them! Match them! Add and subtract them! There’s so much you can do with a bowl of Fruit Loops and a pair of dice—which is why this was one of the learning activities in our St. Patrick’s Day Boogie Kit!

You could make something similar at home with just a sheet of computer paper and some colored markers. Vary the rules based on your children's ages. Here's how I play with my kids:

For my 7-year-old, I ask her to multiply the numbers, then place the smallest number on the rainbow (she’s kind of a math nerd and has decided to teach herself multiplication). For my 5-year-old, I ask him to add the numbers and place that many on the rainbow. For my 2-year-old, I use one die and ask him to count the Fruit Loops and match the colors. Then we all make rainbow Fruit Loop necklaces, of course.

How would you play this game with your wee ones? Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and yours!
