Back-to-school picture frame + math practice
EASY PEASY, THEN SAY CHEESY!
This project is as easy as it looks. Just arrange unused crayons in a pretty pattern and glue them to the frame. When your frame is dry, add your school photo, or take a new photo to put inside the frame (don’t forget to say “cheese”!).
Recognizing and creating patterns is an important early math skill. Ask younger children to count and sort their crayons by color. Arrange the crayons in simple patterns and help your kids identify them.
Ask older children to put the crayons in rainbow order, or reverse rainbow order, and give them math problems such as “How many fewer yellows do you have than blues?”
