Q: What's a mummy's favorite kind of music?
A: Wrap music!
I wish I could take credit for these adorable mason-jar mummies (and that joke), but my mother-in-law was the mastermind behind them. The kids spent a day at her house this weekend and came home with tons of cool Halloween crafts and games. This is just one of them! Evie made the mummy on the left, and Maddox made the one on the right.
Making these guys is about as easy as it looks. Just wrap a couple of mason jars in gauze or cheese cloth, then use craft glue to secure some googly eyes and any other facial features. You could use black foam or construction paper—whatever you have on hand. (I know, mummies don't have other facial features. But Evie's a creative girl. And when she puts her mind to something, we don't dare stop her!)
When your mummies are done, stick a tea light candle inside.
